林美君博士是教育部课程规划与发展司母语处的副司长兼主导专科督导,负责监督中学华文课程及相关特别项目的发展。她的研究兴趣包括华文阅读困难、课程和推广语文学习活动的评估。此外,她还担任推广华文学习委员会(CPCLL)的秘书长,该委员会与社区伙伴合作,组织丰富多彩的活动,为学生营造一个学习与应用华文的大环境。
高松老师是教育部课程规划与发展司母语处华文组的主导专科督导。她拥有多年的教学和教材编写经验,曾在中国(中学、高中)、新加坡(中学)执教长达16年。此外,她曾参与2007版小学三年级至六年级、2015版小学四年级至六年级华文教材的开发与出版,以及2011版和2021版中学华文教材的开发与出版工作,致力于推广华文教育。
Profile
Dr. Jocelyn Lim serves as the Deputy Director and Lead Specialist of the Mother Tongue Language Branch at the Ministry of Education. She oversees the development of the Secondary Chinese Language Curriculum and the special programmes. Her research interests include Chinese reading difficulties, curriculum evaluation, and language promotional programme assessment. Additionally, she holds the position of Head of Secretariat for the Committee to Promote Chinese Language Learning (CPCLL), collaborating with community partners to organise programmes and events aimed at promoting the use of the Chinese language beyond schools.
Mdm Gao Song is the Lead specialist of the Chinese Language Department of the Mother Tongue Languages Branch, Curriculum Planning and Development Division, Ministry of Education. She has sixteen years of extensive experience in teaching and curriculum development having taught at middle and high schools in China, as well as at secondary schools in Singapore. She was involved in the planning and development of Chinese Language textbooks for primary levels 3 to 6 (2007 Edition), primary levels 4 to 6 (2015 Edition), as well as the planning and development of Chinese Language textbooks for secondary schools (2011 and 2021 Editions), all dedicated to promoting Chinese Language education.

Synopsis
The transition of students from primary to secondary school marks a significant milestone in their lives. To ensure a smooth transition, it is important to have a clear understanding of Chinese language learning in secondary school. This sharing session will cover:
- Overview of Chinese language curriculum and its characteristics at secondary level;
- Role of parents in supporting a smooth transition of their children from primary to secondary school; and
- Enrichment opportunities to support Chinese language learning at secondary school level.
